Happy Leap Year!!!

Our Official 29th of February Post!

Since this day happens only once every 4 years....we HAD to post today and let you know what we're doing! We also want to know what you're up to on Leap Year Day!

Jeff and I signed the many many MANY documents that mean we are homeowners (last night). As soon as the funds go through today, it will be OFFICIAL! Yay! We are getting the keys tonight and starting to move our stuff in. I think that is a GREAT way to celebrate this day. (Yes, I brought a camera to closing...I mean, come on, how often do you buy your FIRST home? I'm so glad I did...)

This is us at the end of the process. We signed that WHOLE stack of papers! I think my name (and yes, it was our entire names: first, middle & last) looked pretty perfect by the end!

I have learned that packing with a toddler is, well, challenging to say the least! If I get anything packed with him around and don't tape it (because MAYBE I want to add something to it later) then the whole box is at risk of getting attacked by curious fingers. Let's just say he will be GREAT at helping me UN-pack!

This is what Weston is up to today:
He found our printer box, or more importantly, the Styrofoam in the printer box. It makes a perfect seat, don't you think?! I loved it!

Then he decided it wasn't JUST for sitting, it would make a GREAT 'king of the hill' mountain. He was very proud of himself for discovering this....
I took this picture right as it cracked...hence the look on his face

Here is the result of the 'crack'. He thought it was pretty funny that it made a hole! What a ham. I love this kiddo!

A huge THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to all of our wonderful friends and family who have helped us out this week by watching Weston and making us dinner. We can't tell you enough how much it means! We will DEFINITELY be having you over soon to say THANKS again!
And THANK YOU in advance to everyone coming over to help pack/clean tomorrow! Ditto on having you over too!

And now for some Pics of Weston!

Here are a few shots of what we've been up to this week. Weston has made me laugh every day...which has helped a ton with the stress! What a great kiddo I have!!!

Shar & Trav are borrowing the jumperoo for Kapria. Weston decided he liked this toy still and HAD to try it out again! He looks pretty hilarious....

This is how he sat in it most of the time and he would bounce on his knees...I couldn't stop laughing!

In the process of packing we have found a few old things that Weston thinks are really cool. I almost threw these hats away (from his 1st birthday party) but he found them and thought they were pretty awesome. He had Jeff and I put one on with him. (there were 3 left, how perfect!) and he has since worn one every day. They are so much cooler when it's not your birthday I guess.

Another hat shot! Gotta love it!

CLOSING & MOVING!!!

So, in my attempt to procrastinate the inevitable (packing) I just thought I would let you all know that it is really, truly, for sure happening: we are closing this afternoon!!! WAHOO!!! We are so thrilled and can't wait to post pics of our new little abode. :)
Okay, that is all, I just thought I would share our joyous news...we'll let you all know when we are 'officially' home owners (or mortgage payers...whichever you prefer, haha)!
And now back to packing....

Twilight Saga

Okay, I'll admit, I am a LITTLE obsessed with the Twilight series. I am already counting down until August 2nd when the fourth book, Breaking Dawn, comes out. And just FYI, that is right before my birthday, so it would make a FANTASTIC birthday present. (for anyone besides my husband, he already took me to Wicked for my birthday!)
So....this post is just to inform anyone who cares that then entire Cullen family has officially been cast and you can check out all the info on Stephenie Meyer's awesome website:

www.stepheniemeyer.com

Also, she has a sci-fi book coming out May 6th. called the Host and you can read excerpts from it on the website as well. Such fun stuff!!! LOVE this author.
And finally, she is going on tour for The Host and will be in Salt Lake! And YES, I WILL be there even though I will have just had a baby, or be pretty darn close. She better pick a good day to come. haha CAN'T WAIT!!!!
Sorry there aren't any pics. I am not computer savvy.
Enjoy!!!!

Some things we've been up to in February!

February has gone by so quickly! We have had a lot of fun and stayed SO busy this month. Here are a few of our fun times:

Weston loves when Kapria comes over to play. He likes to do anything she is doing. Here he is being a good sport about sharing his old play mat. (things are so much cooler when other kids are using them!)

For Valentine's Day our wonderful friends Katie and Nate watched Weston so we could go on a date! We are SO grateful to them!!! (thanks for offering you guys!!!) I am over joyed with the thought of spring around the corner and so we bought Jeff these cool patchwork shorts. I have been wanting to get him a pair for SO long but he never likes any that I like....these were a hit with the both of us, though, so we snatched them before they sold out. (as Old Navy tends to do quickly!) Don't worry, he was just trying them on for me....he will NOT wear them with black socks. hehe The rest of our Valentine's was a lot of fun. We made and delivered lots of Valentine's cookies, played with Weston, and had a wonderful date.

Weston loves to give hugs now! We love that we can ask him for one and he will run over and jump in our arms. SO fun! We love our snuggly guy!

Weston sure has it made! He is watching his fav. movie (Finding Nemo) while Jeff gives him a foot rub and he eats some snacks. Ahh...the life!

Okay, he has decided that meal time is THE time to be hilarious! He loves to make us laugh and purposely stuck this carrot on his forehead! Ranch dressing sure makes great glue. What a hoot!

Weston loves to ride around on his little bike. Notice, he is also in the fav. shirt. AND, he got a haircut. What a big boy!

Since the very beginning of Jan. he has only had his binkie during naps and at night. We always put it under his pillow when he's done and there it stays. Until recently. This week he has decided that his crib is the happening place because that is where he gets his binkie. And he wants it all.the.time. AHHH...I thought we were over this! We are working on it though and he is doing much better.
I thought this was just too cute, though, when I found him laying like this one morning. (I put books in his bed for when he wakes up WAY too early, then he just looks at them until he's ready to get up...they have been life savers. or I guess sleep savers! Thanks for the idea Megan!)

What a fun month we've had!!!

Our Toddler has an OPINION!

Weston has decided that he CARES what he wears and when he wears it!
Sometimes it's not a big deal...other times it definitely IS! He has started getting seriously mad if he doesn't want to put on clothes yet and I am ready for him to get dressed. Then he will run away with the clothes if he doesn't want to wear them . And then there are some occasions when he will go digging through his dresser and produce the desired outfit/jacket/hat himself. Oh, what am I to going to do with him? Just laugh, right?! That's what I've been doing. And taking lots of pictures in the meantime. Here a few of his latest:

Some mornings a HAT is definitely the 'IT' item of the day! (and yes, he puts it on himself)

One day, he ONLY wanted Daddy's shorts! luckily we didn't have to run errands before I convinced him of another outfit!

Yes, he even put them on his head. He is under there saying "Cheese" while I took this picture! Classic, I must say!

This is his all-time favorite! He LOVES balls and asks for the "ball shirt" daily. If he even spots one tiny speck of it showing in his drawer, this is the ONE he HAS to wear! (So far he's worn it about 3 times this week alone!) And see...this isn't a bad option. I can deal with this outfit....

Okay, this kid has about 10 jackets and THIS is the one he picked. Yes, it is TOO SMALL! sigh. but he loved it. AND he insisted on putting his beanie on himself. Hence the halfway covered face.
Being a mom to a toddler is definitely an adventure. I love it and I love this kiddo!

28 weeks!!

This pregnancy is FLYING by!

So here is the 28 week update:

Baby healthy.
Mom healthy.
Things are good.
He kicks ALL the time
I can't sleep anymore, but that's okay
Weston keeps me BUSY
I don't want to pack, but amVERY excited to move
I still work out...mostly! :P
This kiddo STILL doesn't have a name. Keep those suggestions coming!

Love you all!

Are we going crazy?!

Well...I am too lazy to upload my new pictures at the moment, so you just get a story.

Jeff + Nicole= 2 wallets in hand prior to 1 Walmart trip
1 Walmart trip + lots of groceries + 1 hungry kiddo - 2 wallets = unhappy Jeff & Nicole
1 fast drive home + 1 drop off of Nicole & West - 2 rememberings of the missing wallets = 1 unhappy Jeff when he had to turn around and COME BACK to get 1 wallet

1 Jeff safely home + lots of groceries for the second time + 1 yummy dinner ready when he got there = 3 happy people in our little family (with a little less of the evening to enjoy)

SO, what does this crazy story teach you? It teaches you that Jeff and Nicole have been so busy and crazy lately that they are losing their minds. But really, it's for a good thing. We are moving in 2 weeks to....Drum roll please..... to OUR OWN HOME!!!
Yes, we are buying our own place! The perfect place showed up, our offer was accepted, we are under contract and closing in 1 week! We move on March 1st to our very own home!!! It is adorable, newly painted and carpeted, 3 bed, 1 1/2 bath and will be just PERFECT for our growing little family. We are SO THRILLED and can't wait to show you all where we are living. AND to have you all over now that we will have a spare bedroom. So: visitors welcome!!!! And despite being very, extremely excited, we are also stressed and going crazy packing. It's all happened SO fast! But there is our very good news for the day!!!!
Love you all!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

The love of my life!!!

So I thought that this would be a fun post to do on Valentine's day... so I saved this TAG until now! I love me wonderful, sweet husband and am SO grateful for ALL that he does for me and West. I am falling more in love each day. I couldn't ask for anything better than that! Happy Valentine's Day everyone. We love you all!!!

1. What is his name? Jeffery Scott Drysdale

2. How long have you been together? Married: 2 years 7 months

3. How long did you date? The first or second time...haha...5 months and then got engaged....and we're still dating!

4. Who eats more? I'm pregnant so it's probably me right now. But usually it's about a tie. I have to make Jeff eat or he forgets and doesn't take the time!

5. Who said I love you first? Him. I wouldn't say it until he did, but I was ready to say it before he was.

6. Who has more speeding tickets? I think we both have none.

7. Who is smarter? Jeff: Math, sciences and the Gospel. Me: English, writing, music and celebrities. haha

8. Who is more sensitive? It's pretty equal usually, but since I'm pregnant, right now it's ME

9. When there is a fight who usually wins? In order for either of us to win, we both have to. Isn't that what marriage is about: compromise!

10. Who does the laundry? Mostly me. If I do laundry at night then Jeff will get it for me out of the laundry room since it's outside! (I have never PLANNED to do it at night for that reason, but sometimes I just don't get around to it in the day and he is oh so wonderful to do it!)

11. Who does the dishes? Me: 60% Jeff 40% and Oh I LOVE that 40%

12. Who sleeps on the right? If you are standing at the foot of the bed, facing the pillows, Jeff is on the right.

13. Who pays the bills? Both of us...but like Nance said...the hubby provides the funds. :)

14. Who mows the lawn? The manager.

15. Who cooks dinner? Me.

16. Who drives when you are together? Mostly Jeff, unless I really feel like driving. But in winter, HIM ALL THE TIME!

17. Who is more stubborn? Probably me. Jeff is so patient and sweet.

18. Who kissed who first? Don't you kiss at the same time? Ha, I liked Nancee's answer! But he came to my apartment and gave me a goodnight kiss on VALENTINE'S DAY!!! That's why this is such a great day!

19. Who asked who out first? Jeff asked me out first. And on every date after. Now that we're married we rotate who's in charge. But I like when the guy makes the first effort and lucky for me, Jeff agrees!

20. Who proposed? Jeff did and it was perfect!!! I was completely surprised and had NO idea it was coming!!!

21. Who has more siblings? Me - 2 brothers & 2 sisters. Jeff- 3 bros. With in laws I still have more on my side by 1.

22. Who wears the pants? "Um, we both do. I wear skirts sometimes too" That was Nancee's answer and I ditto it!

I TAG anyone who feels like doing this!!!

And here are some fun quotes on love:

To love a person is to learn the song
That is in their heart,
And to sing it to them
When they have forgotten.

Our Fantasticly Wonderful SO CALIFORNIA trip!!!

We are back!!! We had an amazing and way too short trip to CA to visit my family. It was the perfect time to leave since Utah is the land of perpetual winter at the moment and CA blessed us with some beautiful sunny days!!! We had so much fun and are so grateful to everyone who made our trip so awesome!!! Here are some of the many many highlights:

Airplane ride: Jetblue is awesome. Straight flight there+ own t.v. + great snacks= one happy momma. Weston did great (most of the time) here is proof:

He was so excited to get off the plane and just ran and ran and ran around the airport. My mom was so great to follow him around and they had a blast playing catch while I waited for the luggage. Oh..I already miss my mom after looking at this picture!!!

Why I love CA:

Do you notice ANY snow??? NO, it was sunny, beautiful and we were able to go on walks in the jogger again. (my bladder won't let me jog!) I just loved this pic of cute little West exploring the Marler's house!

Oceanside Beach: I LOVE the beach. I love love love love love it!!! Weston and I flew to CA on Tues. night and then Jeff met us there Thurs. night. We went to the beach on Fri and it was very chilly and windy, but SO worth the trip. You can't go to CA and not go to the beach. It's a rule. My rule. and I. DO. NOT. break. it!

LOVE the palms, don't you?!

This is one of my favorite pics of the guys: Weston, Jeff, my Dad, Mckenon Too cute!

Seagulls...the only thing I thought of was: "Mine, mine, mine, mine" What movie is that from?! :)

We couldn't let the seagulls sit for too long! Weston laughed so hard at this!

Contemplating life. Beautiful.

Dad, Mom, & Mckenon. It was SO windy, but so great to be there.

Isn't this just so cool?! We had fun. :)

We walked down the pier (above) and had dinner at Rubies Diner. It was great food (thanks mom and dad) and Weston ate more than he has EVER eaten at a restaurant. He also got the biggest kick out of Mckenon. They had such a blast together! (below)

Bates Nut Farm:
We took Weston to Bate's on Sat. morning. It's a small place in Valley Center and the best part is that it's free! We got to feed sheep, ducks, geese, ostrich, & goats. The geese were SO loud...they scared West but it was a fun little trip.

Such a cute little baby goat! He licked my fingers! So cute. Weston was still a little scared!

Driving with Grandpa is always a favorite!

We drove down to the ranch (for those of you who don't know, the ranch was burned pretty much completely in the fires in Oct. you can look at my October posts to read more about what happened with my family)
It was amazing to me to see nature's ability to heal itself. It was already so green and while it was definitely NOT what it was before, it truly was beautiful to see.

Wicked the Musical!!!! It's true...Jeff and I were FINALLY able to see Wicked performed in LA!! I fell in love with this musical about 2 1/2 years ago and have since had many friends and family members see it. We were planning to see it the summer of June 2006, but Weston was born, and well...that was a little more important! So now it was our turn!! My parents were awesome and watched Weston for us for the night. We drove a stressful few hours to LA (for those of you going there.. traffic is CRAZY and give yourself at least 2 hours more than you think you'll need!) but it was SO worth it. I can't even say enough how amazing and fantastic it was. It definitely exceeded my already VERY high expectations. Sigh. I LOVED IT!!! Thanks babe, for the early b-day present!

Visiting Friends and Family: We were able to see a lot of family and friends while we were in CA. It was great to catch up with everyone. My aunt Michelle and her adorable twin boys came to see us with my grandma Bea. (those pics are on my moms camera) and then we visited my good friend, Alli and her cute kiddos. (below) Thanks everyone for making our trip so memorable.

Wild Animal Park: My mom and I took Weston to the Wild Animal Park. It was so fun to see him recognize the animals. It was especially fun since he can make animal noises now!! Here they are watching the gorillas. :)

We took Weston to the Petting Kraal at the park. He was a little timid at first, but that didn't last long. The deer (are they deer?) were so sweet and friendly. He loved it!

His favorite part of the entire park was: the hot air balloon. Surprise! He watched it every time it went up and down!

What a great trip to the Wild Animal Park!

Just Hanging Out:
Some of the best moments were just hanging out with the family. Weston loved playing with Mckenon. And he loved his guitar!

He thought my dad's whiskers were so funny. Any time my dad gave him kisses, he just cracked up. It was so fun to watch! (I didn't mean to make these so small...oops!)

Me & Mckenon just chillin. I love this kid. He is so fun and does so well at everything he tries. We miss you Mckenon!

Visiting Grandpa at work: Our last day in CA we visited my dad's job site (he's building a fire station) and went out to lunch. It was a fun afternoon, and as you can tell, VERY sunny! I love the look on West's face in this pic:

Here are my mom and dad with Weston. We had such a fun trip! We love you both so much and miss you tons! Thank you for everything you do for us and for such an awesome visit! And thanks to the Marlers for letting us stay for so long! We loved getting to see you too!

WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
