What we've been up to in AUGUST

I'm pretty behind in blogging and am going to try to catch up with one post a day. We'll see how it goes. Life is so busy with three boys. We really truly are loving it and trying to really enjoy each moment while they are at these fun ages. Ryder is growing SO fast and we just love snuggling and holding him. As a result, blogging is pretty much last on my list of to-dos. But I will be better!

So here are some shots from August:

The boys picked out a new tie for Jeff for his first day of school. (teaching) They also each picked one out for themselves. Here they are modeling their cool look:

We are enjoying every single bit of sun we can before the winter hits. Chalk drawing has been a favorite lately:

Ryder had his first bottle! This is always something Jeff really looks forward to and Ryder did awesome!


That's our August in a nutshell.
We have had lots of fun, relaxing family days, and it's been great!

Sunday Best

I love getting my guys all dressed up. They are just the most adorable little men in their suits and ties.

Of course we had to get the littlest guy dressed up for his first appearance at church. (he was an angel - slept and then wanted to eat and then slept some more)

Oh I love them!

Tummy Time

Ryder made my day - he actually enjoyed tummy time. NO crying, NO fussing. (not the case with his big bros)

He just layed there, scooted a bit, and was oh so perfect.

Way to go baby boy!

How to have a perfect birthday:
Hubby takes off work
Hubby lets you sleep in
Hubby gets you balloons and a beautiful flower for your birthday, it's waiting on the table for when you come downstairs
Hubby has you get ready for a surprise
Surprise is getting to go out to breakfast with one of your best girlfriends -
while he stays home with all 5- yes, FIVE kiddos
When you get home from breakfast you enjoy time with the kiddos then they all take naps and you get to hang out with the hubby
After naps, you have fun outside with all your boys... Chalk drawings and lots of laughs
Hubby then takes you on a date for your birthday
Shopping and a delicious dinner with wonderful friends
Afterwards, all your boys enjoy singing, cake, and ice cream together ~ Mmmm
Then your little boys go to bed
Oh wait, it doesn't stop there
Next, hubby surprises you with a fun night of Wii with more amazing friends
Dessert again (and a delicious cupcake from our Wii friends, the BEST from Cupcake Chic)~ Mmmm again
Lots of laughs. Silly pictures. And a sweet kiss goodnight
Perfect.

Ryder - 1 month

August 20th

This first month just flew by!! Ryder has been such a sweet baby.

He is about 9 lbs now and grew an inch!!

He loves to be held and snuggled.

He is our little sleepy-head - he sleeps tons. He has started being awake for a little bit longer in the day, but not much.

He had a bit of a rough start with nursing but just recently started doing much better!!

He has his nights/days mixed up and is still waking mom up quite a bit at night.

But he's so darn cute it's okay.

His brothers love him to pieces and so do we!!

Campout!

Our ward had a family camp out!!

We all went up for the bbq and smores and then Jeff stayed overnight with Weston. West was counting down the days until he got to stay in a tent with dad. He LOVED every single minute of it!!! We all set up the tent together and then the boys had a blast wrestling inside. For Tave, that was his 'camping'. It was so good for West to have some one on one time with Jeff. I think they have been missing that since things have been so busy around here!

Sleepy-head

Our little Ryder is so sweet...and such a sleepy newborn!

This is pretty much all he's been doing the first few weeks:

The boys have been asking when they get to see his eyes. So we were all pretty excited to see this:

We had one last shindig at our house before everyone left for CA.

West & Kapria are the best of friends:

Tave & Mila have a special little bond. She lets him give her all sorts of crazy hugs, he absolutely loves her and they like to play by each other:

I hate goodbyes. Really truly do.

Goodbye to Mom/Grandma and her amazing helping hands and listening ear. Goodbye to late nights talking and sewing together.

Goodbye to Dad/Grandpa and all of his wrestling, soda sharing, and lessons.

Goodbye to my best friend and darling nieces.

Goodbye to spur of the moment dinners together and spontaneous drop ins.

Goodbye to having somewhere to go on those days when I just have to get out of the house, don't want to spend money, and look like poo.

Goodbye to gabbing away with my sister in the midst of the chaos of 5 kiddos 4 and under.

Goodbye to having another place to go that is just like home and being with people who love you no matter how many times you might fight with them (kiddos and adults alike).

We miss you all.

Animal Farm

Since the Animal Farm is always a favorite, we brought the kiddos there for a fun afternoon.

Wagon ride, pony ride, & feeding the animals - what could be better?!

Happy Days

July 29th-30th

Shar & the girls' last week was spent having tons of fun!! They were staying at Shar's friend's home and we took advantage of her awesome backyard for our last bits of family time together.

The boys couldn't wait for my Dad to come in town. They are best buds and absolutely love playing with him!

Our good friends, Josh & Jenna, took Ryder's newborn photos. They turned out great!!

Ryder did absolutely perfect and slept pretty much the entire time. So we tried to get one quick family shot at the end. All of the boys were pretty much done by then, though...but I still think it turned out pretty darn cute. :)

And of course, we are absolutely in love with this guy:
