Yes, I am cloth diapering. Part time.

What- ME?! Yes, I AM crazy.

However...

Did you know the average child uses about 6,000 disposable diapers in 2.5 years?

This adds up to aprox. $1,600-$2,000 worth of diapers AND lots of waste in landfills.

I'm not trying to make anyone feel guilty, I LOVE me those disposable diapers.

But I'm a little more than disgusted at the thought of what Weston's 3.5 years & Tave's 2.5 years worth of diapers are doing to our earth.

So I'm trying it out. I'm really excited about this and the potential cost savings it will have on our household.

Not to mention- they are just so stinkin cute on that bum.

AND they are oh-so-soft organic cotton. Really truly, I rubbed it on my face it was SO soft. (BEFORE they ever touched a naked bum)

And just so you don't think I'm completely off my rocker -

I am not cloth diapering the newborn. No way, uh-uh. In a few months when I have this whole cloth-diapering thing down (and he's not going through 12 diapers a day) we'll start.

ps. for those of you interested, these are the diapers I'm using. Jeff & I figured, if we stick to this, it cost us about $400 upfront, but we'll be using them on Tave until he's potty trained and then Ryder and then whoever else comes along. You figure out the math!

**I'll update periodically to let you know how it's going and the things we've learned about cloth diapering.**

Entertainmet Center

I had to take a break from playing blog catch up to post something recent.

Jeff finished the entertainment center!!! YAY!!! I really, truly, absolutley, 100% LOVE it!

I did a bunch of looking online to find just what I wanted. I took pieces of this and that and told him everything this one needed to have to be just right. He took all of my suggestions, added a few of his own, and designed this awesomeness:

Our good friends, Will and Geniel, and Will's dad, are who helped make this happen. We can't thank them enough. Jeff loved learning how to make something from scratch. They all put tons of time into making this and I am so grateful! It still has some work to go (more sanding and paint) but I seriously Love love love it.

Weston started Preschool!!!

September 2010

Weston started preschool in September and he is loving it!

He was SO thrilled for his first day and he is doing awesome.

His teacher is wonderful and he loves spending time with his friends and learning new things.

Tave and I definitely miss our buddy while he's away, but it's fun to have some time with just the little two and West is having a blast.

I just can't believe how fast he's growing!

Fun with Grandma & Grandpa

Mom & Dad were able to stay an extra day. It was awesome to have them to ourselves and get to spend that extra bit of time with them. The boys sure love their grandparents! I'm so glad they were able to meet Ryder and see his little tiny self!!

We had a Wii night with them, I think they liked it. :)

Ryder's Blessing

Baby blessings are always so special.
I love seeing all the preisthood holders in our family take this little baby in their arms and give him a blessing. It is amazing to think about his life and who he will become. I love hearing about the blessings he will receive as he lives worthy and it reminds me just how important my job as his mother is. I get to help him on this journey.

How lucky I am.

Thank you to all the wonderful family who were able to be a part of this special day. And to those of you who were far away, we felt your thoughts with us and we missed you.

After the blessing we went back to the house for some brunch and relaxing.

We had such a fun time together and while ALL the boys took a nap, the ladies played some games. It was a wonderful day!

It was so amazing to have all of us together in the Temple.

The reception was beautiful and sweet. They held it in the afternoon, which was soooo great, the kids were awesome for it and no one was too tired at the end. :)

We packed tons of fun into the quick weekend! It was awesome!!


Sat. night Mom & Dad watched all three boys so the siblings could go on a date together. It was awesome, I don't think we have done that since before kiddos! Pics coming.

What we've been up to in AUGUST

I'm pretty behind in blogging and am going to try to catch up with one post a day. We'll see how it goes. Life is so busy with three boys. We really truly are loving it and trying to really enjoy each moment while they are at these fun ages. Ryder is growing SO fast and we just love snuggling and holding him. As a result, blogging is pretty much last on my list of to-dos. But I will be better!

Sunday Best

I love getting my guys all dressed up. They are just the most adorable little men in their suits and ties.

Of course we had to get the littlest guy dressed up for his first appearance at church. (he was an angel - slept and then wanted to eat and then slept some more)

Oh I love them!

Tummy Time

Ryder made my day - he actually enjoyed tummy time. NO crying, NO fussing. (not the case with his big bros)

He just layed there, scooted a bit, and was oh so perfect.

Way to go baby boy!

How to have a perfect birthday:
Hubby takes off work
Hubby lets you sleep in
Hubby gets you balloons and a beautiful flower for your birthday, it's waiting on the table for when you come downstairs
Hubby has you get ready for a surprise
Surprise is getting to go out to breakfast with one of your best girlfriends -
while he stays home with all 5- yes, FIVE kiddos
When you get home from breakfast you enjoy time with the kiddos then they all take naps and you get to hang out with the hubby
After naps, you have fun outside with all your boys... Chalk drawings and lots of laughs
Hubby then takes you on a date for your birthday
Shopping and a delicious dinner with wonderful friends
Afterwards, all your boys enjoy singing, cake, and ice cream together ~ Mmmm
Then your little boys go to bed
Oh wait, it doesn't stop there
Next, hubby surprises you with a fun night of Wii with more amazing friends
Dessert again (and a delicious cupcake from our Wii friends, the BEST from Cupcake Chic)~ Mmmm again
Lots of laughs. Silly pictures. And a sweet kiss goodnight

Ryder - 1 month

August 20th

This first month just flew by!! Ryder has been such a sweet baby.

He is about 9 lbs now and grew an inch!!

He loves to be held and snuggled.

He is our little sleepy-head - he sleeps tons. He has started being awake for a little bit longer in the day, but not much.

He had a bit of a rough start with nursing but just recently started doing much better!!

He has his nights/days mixed up and is still waking mom up quite a bit at night.

But he's so darn cute it's okay.

His brothers love him to pieces and so do we!!
