Mornings with my little man...

*Where, oh where, can my Weston be?

Oh where, oh where, can he be?

With his dino pjs and his big, gray sword
Oh where oh where can he be??

He absolutely LOVES playing in the pillows on our bed.
This particular morning he was 'hiding' and I had to find him.
Isn't he great!

*Yes, I do sing the song. And I always make up silly, crazy words for the last line. West loves it. And I get a kick out of it myself. ;)

Syanne & Aydrien

Tave and I were able to spend the day with Syanne & Aydrien. It was very busy, but so much fun.
I loved snuggling and holding Aydrien. He is such a calm and sweet baby. He liked watching the other kiddos and, of course, slept away a lot of the day. I love this little boy!
Syanne is such a fire-cracker! She kept us laughing and having fun. She loves her kitty and takes him everywhere.
What a fun day!!

You've got a friend in me

When I started video-ing this little scene, it had already been going on for quite some time.

Moments like this are one of my very favorite parts about being a mom.

Lets go fly a kite

The other night I was cleaning the kitchen and looked up to see this:

Weston thinks it's really funny to take his pants off and go running around the house. Add a kite to the mix and you're in for a screaming good time!
He's had a really fun time flying it outside and inside. (thanks Dad, he bought this kite with your change!)

After he had fun running around flying his kite he decided to put his pants back on. Not a big deal, you say?? WELLLL, this was the very FIRST time he has ever put his pants on by himself. Pretty cool. Here's the after shot:

He thought he was hiding from me. Hmmm... can you see him behind that huge lamp post?! ;)
I have so much fun with this kiddo! West-- we sure love you!

And last, but not least, here is a video made for his cousin. Weston had been running around with his kite yelling and laughing and being pretty hilarious. Of course he wanted me to video tape him and then he got all camera-shy at the last minute. So despite what it looks like, this whole thing really was his idea.
Enjoy:

Draper Temple

*
We were able to go to the Draper Temple Open House.
It was such a beautiful and special morning. Weston recognizes and talks about the temple quite a bit so we knew this was a wonderful opportunity to actually bring him inside.

When we told Weston where we were going, and that the Temple is Heavenly Father's house, he got really excited and asked if we would see Jesus while we were there.
I loved being able to tell him, that yes, we'll see Jesus: that we will see pictures of him and feel His Spirit and maybe even see Him. (because if anyone would, I firmly believe it would be all the little children who enter His house.)

It was neat to walk through with the boys and know that because of the covenants we make there we are able to be a family- forever.
We sat down in one of the rooms and Weston asked me to sing him a song. Of course I sang "I love to see the Temple" and of course it made me cry.
The boys did great the entire time and truly seemed to enjoy the experience. I know that their sweet little spirits felt the Spirit while we were there.
I love our boys and my sweet husband.
I am so grateful that we will be together always.
What a wonderful reminder of the sacredness of families.

ps. The boys loved the bus ride and the cookies afterwards. Overall, the entire trip was very memorable!
*This picture was not taken inside the temple- don't worry!

Our Fridays

Fridays have always been one of our favorite days of the week. Not only does it mean the weekend is here, we'll be with Daddy all weekend, and pretty much have lots of fun, but it also means we watch Miss Kapria.
I was a little nervous to watch 3 kiddos. But it has turned out to be such a blessing and SO much fun. The kids have tons of fun playing together and learning how to share, be nice, and just be together. I wish we could have a day each week with ALL of our cousins.

It's really fun to see Tave's personality coming out. He and Kapria are very similar, and I think they are going to be best buds. They love playing together and are always laughing at each other.

Weston loves to read. His favorite spot is this awesome pillow corner of K's in between the couches. I need to find a place like this at our house, doesn't it just encourage sitting down to snuggle and read a good book?!

Now that the snow is melted, it's easier to go outside. Even though it's chilly, it is much needed by the end of the day. The kids ALL love to be outside, which means I do too!
Here is Miss K in the latest hat I've made. It's one of my favorites, I'm still working on the flower- Shar wants to be able to clip them on so she can switch out for different colored flowers. It's going to be so cute!

Weston found a hole in Shar & Trav's yard and now he sits in it every time we go over!! It looks even funnier in real life! He sure cracks us up!!
Of course the messiest part of the yard is the favorite place to be!

I just loved this picture of West. He is turning into such a handsome, fun little guy. He talks all the time and we have real conversations now. I love being a mom!

Bad Hair Day...

Tave has started moving around in his crib quite a bit. No matter where we put him, he ends up squished in the top corner. Which makes for some pretty funny hair days.
The picture on the left was taken right after a nap. It made me laugh.
Then we fixed his hair all handsome like his daddy & bro.

Working on it...

Tave is SO close to crawling. He really really wants to move and is not very happy just sitting anymore....but he can't seem to get it just yet!
He does this over and over and over all day long. And when he lands on his tummy he's not a happy camper. What a funny kiddo we have!

Grandpa-time

As soon as Weston found out Grandpa was coming, that is all he talked about.
So Grandpa actually getting here really made his day!
He had fun showing Grandpa his toys, drinking Grandpa's soda, and rough-housing with him.
We love you, Dad!

Weston had my Dad do this for about a half hour straight! He LOVED it... thanks, Dad, for having so much fun with our guy!!

At the end of the video, Weston is talking about how he got 'dirt'. At some point during this activity, he decided the lovesack was a pile of dirt and he kept getting it in his mouth! What an imagination!!

Aquarium

My mom came here for to help Chelsea out with her baby and then my dad flew out the weekend before they drove home.
My boys just LOVE their grandparents. We had so much fun with them (despite all the sicknesses) The last Saturday they were here we all went to the Planet Life Aquarium.
The kids absolutely loved seeing all the fish and touching some animals. Even Tave was fascinated. What a great time!

We love and miss you Mom & Dad!

Our February Fun

February is a short month...but we sure packed it very full. In between Weston, myself and Tave getting sick, we fit a lot of fun in as well.
Here is some of what we were up to:

These two boys make me smile every single day. I love being their mom and pretending, playing, and imagining with them!

My cute friend, Ashley and her darling little girl, Reese were in town!
We met up with them at the mall and had a great time catching up.
It was so fun to see you, Ash! Can't wait to do it again!!

This picture was just too sweet!
Tave decided that not ALL tummy time is bad. Here he is, relaxing while I got ready one morning.

Tave was officially moved the the crib! (from his pack n play)
Weston hasn't slept in it for about 6 weeks now, and he was really good to 'give' it to Tave.

I started watching little Miss K on Fridays again.
My oh my, 3 kiddos under 3 can be a challenge, but it is always so very fun!!
The boys love getting out of the house and playing with their cute cousin and I think she loves us too!!

Weston loves sporting his diaper. When I go to get him dressed in the mornings, he usually escapes for awhile so he can run around like this.
He also loves being a monkey on my eliptical machine.
What a silly kiddo!
(ps I had to take this picture to prove that my 2 1/2 year old can wear his 9 month old Bro's diapers...size 2, crazy skinny kid-- I swear we feed him!!)

Tave continues to LOOOVE anything musical. He has so much fun pounding away on the piano and dancing to music.

One of the highlights of our days was playing in some bubble wrap.
They used it as drums, a shirt, a hat, and pretty much anything else you can think of.
This month was a great one.
I feel so blessed to be able to stay home with these little guys.
They teach me so much every day and help me to be a better mom.

Giftyness Meme

Okay, I think I am a *little* crazy for doing this, but I just couldn't resist. It sounds like SO much fun. And I'll be getting something awesome from my super-talented friend, Danielle. So here goes:

The first 4 (four) people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you.

This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:-

  • What I create will be just for you.- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! (I will make every effort though)-

  • You will receive your item within 365 days, that's one year. (or sooner).

  • You will have no clue what the item is going to be. It could be a story or poetry (unlikely). It could be a piece of handmade jewelry or an art doll (slightly more likely). I may draw, paint, collage, or crochet something (quite probable). I might bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure!

  • I reserve the right to do something extremely strange (completely possible, but not likely, afterall- I DO want you to like it!)

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you have to repost this meme and make and send out FOUR surprises of your own.
So -- who's in?

Bed update

Well, we are two weeks into the big-boy Bed. Or, as Weston calls it, his 'Weston-sized bed.'
And I thought it was time for an update.
Because, quite honestly, I am shocked, surprised, thrilled, and absolutely grateful.

NO crying. NO trying to get up. NO late night visits to our room. NO tantrums at naptime.

This is what happens every single night:
Family prayers, brush teeth, read story, lay him in bed, sing song, kiss goodnight, lights out.
Sleep, sleep, sleep, sleep... for 12 hours.
Morning: Weston plays and reads in his room for about a 1/2 hour.
Then I hear "Mommy, Weston awake, get Weston up please." Repeated until I come get him. (which is usually in less than a minute because he has been so gosh-darn good.)

This is what happens every single naptime:
Read story, lay him in bed, sing song, kiss, lights out.
A little bit of talking and playing and then sleep...for 2 hours*
He does cry a little when he wakes up, or I just hear him moving around and talking and I get him.

I feel blessed. I really do. Because sleep habits have definitely taken time and discipline at our house and haven't been the easiest.
But this. This is just heavenly. What a great, great kid.

* this coming from the child who decided last month that he didn't want naps and would cry for 30 minutes in his crib after I put him down.

ps. the shorts in the pic. are absolutely my very favorite. I love them. And when I brought them home from Old Navy, Weston wanted to put them on right then. No matter that it was snowing. Oh spring, come quickly.
