Giving Thanks

We had a fabulous Thanksgiving!!
Jeff's parents have made it a tradition to come visit us for the Holiday and we LOVE that they do.
We have so much fun with them and the kids just absolutely adore their grandparents.
This year, Jonathan & Rachel came with them, which made it extra fun!

We had a fun week of celebrating with a trip to the zoo, play time at the mall, lots of yummy food, restaurants, and plenty of fun.
Here are the highlights from the actual Thanksgiving day:

Thanksgiving Week!!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving week! It was packed full of family and fun, we wouldn't have wanted it any other way!!
Mom & Dad (Drysdale) came to visit from Texas. They arrived Sun evening.

Monday:  Spent a lot of the day preparing food and we had an early Thanksgiving feast.  (that way we would have leftovers throughout the week!)

Tues night: Went on a date with Mom & Dad and Jonathan & Rachel to Brick Oven. Always a fav (and a MUST) when people visit!

Wednesday: Jeff and Rachel were off work, yay!! The first half of the day was Girl's day, which included breakfast at Kneaders and of course shopping!  The second half was Guy's day, which included a movie and food. :)

Thursday: Thanksgiving!!  We did the un-traditional by going out to eat!!  Everyone invited the family and friends they wanted and we all met at Chuck-A-Rama for their famous buffet. Unfortunately, even arriving at 11:30 am it was WAY too packed. We had at least an hours wait so we headed over to another buffet place. We got in right away but it was CRAZY busy! Seriously, I had no idea so many people went out on Thanksgiving!! It was a lot of fun to do something different, though (and have no mess afterwards!)
After the meal, the guys headed back home to put Ryder down for a nap and watch the Cowboys play. The ladies took West & Tave to see Arthur Christmas. It was a fun way to get into the spirit of Christmas and the boys loved it!!
Then we all met up at the house for games and dessert.  So fun!

Friday: went up to Salt Lake for the night!  We checked in to the hotel and then went to Temple Square. We  played at the Church History Museum for awhile, which is SO awesome. there are tons of kid friendly activities that teach about the church and the scriptures. Loved it!

Then we had dinner and went to see the lights on Temple Square. It was a fun experience that we haven't done with the boys before, but man, it was COLD!!

Once we were back at the hotel, the adults took the boys swimming  while I put Ryder down for bed.  Then when the bigger boys were in bed, all the adults played games in Mom & Dad's hotel room (which was connected to ours). It was such a fun(and funny) night!!

The next morning we said goodbye to Mom & Dad (boo, it was very sad)
and then we took the boys swimming again before heading home. They absolutely loved staying in a hotel and thought it was the coolest night ever!

It was such a wonderful and FULL week. We loved every minute and are so glad Mom & Dad came out to spend time with us. It was also a fun week with Jonathan & Rachel before they moved to Texas.
We have so much to be thankful for!

ThanksGiving

We had a deliciously cozy, fun-filled, jam packed, busily wonderful day!

13 adults + 6 kiddos = some sort of magic to all fit at the table!
But we did it!! And it was great!!
These pictures look *almost* the same, between the two we have our entire Thanksgiving crew pictured. :)

We had fun talking, chasing kiddos, eating, eating, and of course more eating.

At the end of the day, our cousin Alex stopped by with his sweet wife and adorable 5 kids!! It was so fun to see them again and meet the 2 youngest we had never seen before!

Thanks, everyone, for making our first time hosting Thanskgiving dinner so wonderful and memorable!
